TriVelo Coaching is one-on-one online cycling coaching for road racers, time trialists and masters riders in any country. You get one coach, power-based sessions from your own calibrated numbers, and help with how you ride a race. It costs $99 USD a week, plus GST in Australia.
Head coach Gerard Donnelly has coached riders to national masters titles and has won 26 Australian masters titles himself.
We will never use AI to write your program or coach you. Read our stance on AI.
All of these come from case studies on our Get Fast Podcast.
He's a long-time racer and an old rival of Gerard's. His 10-minute threshold efforts went from 220 W to 260 W, and he still races A grade.
His 10-minute power went from 370 W to 429 W, and his 1-minute power from 514 W to 739 W, over about two years. His climb went from about 12:00 to 9:53. His hard days came down to two a week.
He's a surgeon in the 55 to 59 age group. It took three years of training, and a new bike and equipment helped too.
He's a former two-time Australian Masters time trial champion returning from injury. His best on that course is 21:40.
One rider took 3 minutes off with only 8 W more. The gain came from how they rode it.
You fill in a short form, then have a free call of about 30 to 45 minutes. If we can help, Gerard matches you with a coach.
You complete an athlete profile and load your training history. Your program is built in TrainingPeaks and links to your Garmin or Wahoo and to Zwift.
We calibrate your FTP and your zones from your own efforts on the bike, so every session is set to you.
Your zones and sessions come from your own calibrated numbers. When you finish, your data uploads and you add a note on how it felt.
This is the centre of how we coach. Power, cadence, heart rate and speed show what happened, your notes explain why, and together they decide what comes next.
We change your pacing and your zones as you get fitter.
Your sessions become race-ready in the last 8 to 12 weeks, with a race plan meeting in race week and a review afterwards.
We don't put a limit on how much our coaches contact our athletes. Our goal is to get you the best results possible, and we communicate as much as that takes.
We say it's never the best rider who wins. Your calibrated numbers set your zones. They don't tell you how you'll go in a race, so we also work on tactics, position and timing.
One of our own coaches, Nick, went from 23:17 to 22:10 on the same course with just 3 W more, after better pacing and more time in his time trial position. Our rule is to ride harder when the bike is going slower.
We'll put some in your program, but not on the days you need to stay in zone two, because you can't hold it in a bunch.
Ours costs $99 USD a week, which is about $429 USD a month, plus GST in Australia.
Yes, on the bike you ride. On the podcast we compare training without one to driving a car blindfolded. If you don't have one yet, getting one is your first job, and Gerard can help you work out what you need.
Every four to six weeks. We change your pacing and your zones as you get fitter.
No. Dave, in the 55 to 59 age group, lifted his 40 km time trial speed by 4 km/h over three years, with some help from new equipment. Russell, who has raced for decades, won two national masters titles at 64.
Yes. Tell us your goal when you apply. We coach long events and tours as well as racing.
Yes. We have coaches in several countries. Where we can, we match you with a coach in a similar time zone.
If your calibrated numbers don't improve in your first 8 weeks, the coaching is on us.
No. We don't lock you into a fixed six or 12-month contract, and you pay weekly in advance. You can pause for genuine reasons such as injury or significant illness.
